Come and experience art in a fun and creative atmosphere where you can learn about art and discover your own personal style! Throughout the summer there will be five separate weeks of art camp to choose from. The camps are for rising 1st graders - rising 6th graders.
Art Camp dates and themes:
- June 6th - June 10th (10:00am - 1:00pm): Art and Weaving - Explore different materials and methods to create all kids of art and weaving projects inspired by the colors and textiles we see around us every day! We will make baskets, potholders, and so much more during this week of Art Camp!
- June 13th – June 17th (10:00am - 1:00pm): Art and Insects - Insects are everywhere and they are awesome! Come and learn about color, shapes, and symmetry from insects. We will draw, paint, assemble, and explore mixed media projects to expand our insect appreciation!
- June 20th – June 24th (10:00am - 1:00pm): Art and Color - Come and explore all the colors you can imagine. Draw, paint, and explore mixed media projects to expand your understanding of color! Together we will experience the art of Batik, Shibori, and fabric dying in this exciting class!
- June 27th – July 1st (10:00am - 1:00pm): Art and Native Americans - We will create fun and interesting things that will help us learn about what life was like for Native American children long ago! Using natural and everyday materials we will make masks, toys, games, and things to wear!
- July 11th - July 15th (10:00am - 1:00pm): Art and Printmaking - Printmaking is one of the most exciting art activities that children can experience! This week we will explore this method of art making using everything from styrofoam, bubbles, shaving cream, leaves, and even Legos!
