  1. Swim Team Registration

    The Lumpkin County Swim Team is a recreational summer program available to all strong swimmers ages 6-18. We will practice Monday thru Thursday in the Afternoons at Memorial Hall Pool located on the University of North Georgia's Campus. The season will run in the months June & July. We will have multiple swim meets with other summer league swim teams in the North Georgia Swim League. Summer League swimming is a fun introductory level into competitive swimming!!

  1. Firearms Qualifaction (ALL WEAPONS), Use of Deadly Force, Back up Requalification, Shotgun Requalificaton, Rifle Requalification

    April 7, 2020, 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ Michael J. Ramsey Firing Range

    * This Training is mandatory for all officers who carries or requests to carry a Less Lethal Shotgun and for all officers who require re-certification on the Taser. * Firearms Re-qualification will consist of; Use of Deadly Force and the Departmental Qualification Course of Fire. The course of fire requires a minimum score of 80%. A maximum of three attempts to qualify will be offered. In addition to this qualification; backup, rifle, and shotgun requalification will occur

  2. Defensive Tactics/Mechanics of Arrest

    **Defensive Tactics and Mechanics of Arrest is a combination of several fighting systems and weaponless strategies. The techniques are flexible and require the officer to measure the amount of force in proportion to the level of unlawful resistance. Balance, Self-control and Awareness is the key to success for the officer focusing on control vs. injury. The officers’ ability to sustain a resistance and fight if necessary is evaluated through the fitness level of the officer. Hands-on situational exercises and other endurance events will be utilized. In addition, a refresher in the application of chemical sprays, tactical batons and handcuffing will also be addressed and practiced.
