Georgia EPD Declares Level 1 Drought

Some areas of Georgia are facing severe to extreme drought conditions.  Because of these conditions, on October 18, 2019 the Director of the Georgia Environmental Protection Division (EPD) declared a Level 1 Drought Response for 103 Georgia Counties.  Lumpkin County is included in that drought declaration.

LCWSA is asking its customers and all Lumpkin County citizens to continue to be good stewards of our water resources and to remember that general outdoor watering is only allowed between 4:00 p.m. and 10:00 a.m.

Water Testing Services

The Lumpkin County Cooperative Extension Office provides water testing services for private wells. The Cooperative Extension office can be reached by calling 706-864-2275.
