Lumpkin County is currently accepting applications for the position of Road Department Equipment Operator. This is a Full Time benefits eligible position.
Job Description: Must be able to operate a front end loader, boom mower, tractor with bush hog, roller, mower, chainsaw and chipper as well as perform daily equipment checks. Duties include installing, repairing & clearing culverts, preparing roads for paving, patching county roads, cutting grass, cleaning right-of-way, clearing drainage structures and other related duties as needed or assigned. Must be able to take emergency call outs some nights and weekends.
Minimum Qualifications: Ability to read, write, and perform mathematical calculations at a level commonly associated with the completion of high school or the equivalent. Must have valid Georgia driver’s license for the types of vehicles or equipment operated. Must have a clean driving record. MVR check is part of the hiring process. Class A CDL’s will be given priority consideration.
Employment contingent upon passing a background check, physical exam, and post offer drug screening.
